They reached out to me to schedule an interview and i never heard back from them after the interview. If larger companies can send an automated response with the hundreds of applicants they get, I don't understand why a smaller non-profit can't do the same.

I had a phone interview with two staff members who were rebuilding the team. They first explained the process and asked if I had any questions about the role. Then, they went straight into their questions. After that, they gave a quick rundown of what they expected and I got another chance to ask them questions.

The interview process involved brief chats with both national and host site contacts. It wasn't overly challenging, though there was a hiccup where my application initially got lost by the RT national office interviewer, delaying its arrival at the host site until I followed up months later. In total, there were 3 interviews. While some people have had great experiences with AmeriCorps and RT, my personal journey with this organization was quite a mess, so I'd suggest doing your homework beforehand.

I applied through the AmeriCorps website, and after completing my application, I got an email from National to set up a phone screen. The phone screen was super quick, like 10 minutes, and about two weeks later, I heard back that I passed and my info went to the locations I picked. From there, it depends on the affiliate. My affiliate contacted me for a second interview, then a final one with my direct supervisor. I kicked off the process in late February and got accepted by the end of April.
