Behavioral Technical Case

It was a standard process with multiple rounds and a take-home case. Started with a recruiter call, then I spoke with the head of product, the CTO, and the CMO. The interviews got more technical as I progressed, especially with the CTO, who wanted to see if I could do business analytics and provide data-driven insights to the marketing team.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved 3 interviews total. I spoke with the recruiter, my direct supervisor, and then an executive. I felt all 3 interviews went well and they all indicated I was a good fit. However, I never received an offer and they ghosted me, sending a generic email a few weeks later stating the position had been filled. This was frustrating given I spent several hours on it; a simple email with feedback would have been sufficient. It left a poor impression of the organization.

The interview process involved several rounds with senior management and current client services employees. The interviews assessed my knowledge of commercial real estate and my communication skills. It was a great way to learn about RealtyMogul, its values, and culture, and I felt it was a good fit for me. I received an offer about two months ago, and the onboarding has been smooth despite COVID-19 challenges. My colleagues have been very helpful with any questions. I appreciate that new hires can join high-level discussions like investment committees for new opportunities. As a recent graduate, this is very valuable for my professional growth.

I was initially contacted by an in-house recruiter through LinkedIn, and it looked like a good fit based on my background. We had a phone screen where we discussed my profile and if I was a good match for the role. The recruiter was helpful, though getting the in-person interview scheduled took some effort with phone tag. The in-person meeting was good, but I realized the role wasn't quite what I expected. They asked me to fill out some info before a second interview with the CEO, but I passed on that since the position was mostly compliance work, not the real estate law I was looking for. It seemed like they handled most of their real estate legal work through JV entities, not directly in-house.

  • Can you share details about your overall and specific professional background?
  • Could you elaborate on your experience in real estate law compared to corporate law?
  • What is your preferred balance between real estate and compliance responsibilities in a legal position?
