Customer Success Manager
I went through three full rounds, even had an on-site interview scheduled, before being told the company was “moving forward with another candidate.” The weird part is that the job is still posted months later. It’s disappointing to invest that much preparation and time only to realize the role likely wasn’t real or had been paused. This kind of process wastes candidates’ time, especially for those seriously looking for work. If RTI or any company is just pipelining candidates, they should say so. Candidates put in the effort — the least a company can do is be transparent.

The company's interview process has 5 interviews spread across two rounds. The first round includes an initial chat about your experience and expectations, where they'll also share more about the role to help you decide if it's a good fit. This is typically with your potential manager. Following that, you'll have more technical interviews with members of the team for the open position. If you pass this stage, you'll proceed to two more in-depth interviews. These will involve demonstrating your skills through live coding and/or setting up VMs, depending on the specific job. Finally, there's a last interview with another manager to review your overall performance and assess your fit for the role. HR is quite efficient and will keep you updated with feedback and schedule subsequent interviews promptly between each stage.

The whole process was very robotic, old school and uncomfortable. I had one phone interview with HM and then was brought in a few days later to meet the team (waste of 4 hours). When I arrived, I had to dial an extension (no receptionist) to let me in. They printed a paper application for me to fill out, which I refused as I already filled an online application out. I almost ran after I saw this, but looked at it as an area I can provide recommendations for improvement. There was no natural dialogue among the interviewers. Computers up whole time in front of their face taking notes, and some were even unprepared as they had not reviewed my resume beforehand (which they actually said to me). I have interviewed successfully at several organizations and this was the worst interview experience I have had. Please train your interviewers and HR team to think outside the box.

The most awkward Interview ever. The initial phone screen was great, the lady I had was nice, personable and very passionate about the company. Sadly the same cannot be said for the second interview. The guy I had was the most awkward, expressions and pedantic person possible. I mentioned I thought the company had a great product and his reply was "It's a software not a product!" Now I have worked in IT for a while and have heard the word product and application but never software. I could tell the guy had zero passion for the company and it was just another job for him. To be honest he had no business doing interviews. Also he would just stop for a minute or two between questions. Also I was asked about experience that had nothing to do with the job I applied for. I can see why the position sat open for over a month. I really don't see a future for the company if that is the type of people who work there.
- So, why are you looking for a new opportunity?
- Could you give me a run-through of your resume?
- What's your interest in RIT?
