First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Real Soft.
Contract Administrator
The Recruiter from The Real Soft, Inc. reached out to me by phone. I let them know I was interested in coming back to the company. They set up an in-person interview. I got through that, and the Recruiter called me in under 2 business days with an offer for the contract position. The two guys who interviewed me were pros, I would love to work for them again.
- Are you interested?
- What's your work history?
- Why did you quit your previous job?
Trainer
The interview process had 4 rounds. First was a written round with MCQs covering aptitude, reasoning, and Java. Then, a group discussion on a trending topic where two groups were formed to discuss. The third round was a managerial interview to assess communication and presentation skills, as the job involves being on client locations. Finally, an HR round for a standard discussion about the package.
- Do you have a good command of Java and strong analytical skills?
- Are your communication skills good?
Data Engineer
First, a recruiter screens you for about 30 minutes. They'll ask behavioral questions about leadership principles and your experience with data pipelines, SQL, and AWS. Then, there's a technical phone screen (45-60 min) where you'll do live coding, usually on platforms like Codility, focusing on SQL/Python. You'll also do data modeling, like designing a schema for an e-commerce order tracking system. The main part is the on-site or virtual loop, which has 4-5 rounds. You'll design data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for large datasets (e.g., 1TB daily clickstream data). There's more coding, this time in Python/Scala for data transformations, preferably with Spark. System design questions will cover AWS services (Redshift, Glue, Kinesis) and their trade-offs. Finally, expect more behavioral questions where you'll use the STAR method for Leadership Principles.
- Can you write a query to calculate the average order amount for customers who registered within the past 30 days, using the provided orders and customers tables?
- Given the tables orders (order_id, customer_id, order_date, amount) and customers (customer_id, signup_date), write a query to find the average order amount for customers who signed up in the last 30 days.
Software Engineer
There were four rounds in total before I was selected. First, there was a written test, which had both aptitude and technical questions with no negative marking. After that, we had a group discussion, mostly on current affairs. Then came the technical interview, which could happen twice - once with the team lead and then with the manager, or just one of them might interview you. Finally, there was the HR interview, which was the last step before they made the selection.
- Can you describe the difficulty of the technical questions, and are there any specific challenging ones?
- Can managers ask puzzles or any tricky questions related to your career history?
