Business Development Representative
I applied through LinkedIn. In mid-August 2022, I had a phone call, followed by a Zoom call later in August. One potential red flag was when they mentioned they weren't on a strict timeline for hiring, but rather looking for the right fit. While that makes sense from their perspective, it could mean a long wait for a decision or response. For what seems like an entry-level role, the experience has been poor. It's now September 2022, and I haven't heard back. They did mention they were using a different interview process this time, but their follow-up on the offer status has been lacking. I reached out to both interviewers, but received no acknowledgment or response regarding the role.

Onboarding Support
I applied for a job I saw on LinkedIn and a few days later I got an email with a lot of pre-screening questions. There were 13 questions in total that covered basic interview questions, explaining things simply, and general customer service stuff. None of the questions were super short and I spent a good amount of time on my answers to make sure they were genuine and reflected my experiences. I think I spent at least 90 minutes on them, but I didn't have a time limit since I was at home and I sent them back within 3 hours of getting the email. After I sent them, I didn't get any response. I never heard back from the team. It's a bummer that companies ask for so much detail but can't even send an automated response to let you know you're not moving forward. I know things are a bit crazy with everything going on (COVID-19), but even a quick message saying the process is on hold would be nice.

Customer Support Representative
Found the job posting on Indeed, applied by emailing the hiring manager directly after checking out the company website. Sent a cover letter and resume. Got contacted for a phone interview about a week later. The phone interview was about 30 minutes and went fine. Then got invited for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and CEO. This interview was also about 30 minutes. It was more of a 'get to know you' chat, not super focused on job skills. At the end, they asked for references. About 10-14 days later, I got an email with a job offer. The hiring manager called two of my three references.

Support Engineer
I was really looking forward to interviewing with real geeks. However, after arriving the interviewer was kind of rude and inattentive. She kept looking at her laptop after asking a question. I thought that she was typing my responses but she wasn’t. She seem to not even care and it’s almost like she made up her mind about me after seeing my appearance. I dressed in a button up shirt and slacks with my shirt tucked in. So, I’m not sure what the real issue was but that’s just my assumption. She also would twist my words around and quickly rushed me out of the door. She also said “I will see you later”. I could tell it was insincere and unprofessional. It was also weird seeing everyone sitting at the same table. No cubicles or isolation from one another. It just seemed like if you were on the phone next to someone, it would interfere. That’s just my opinion from being in a help desk and call center environments.
