Environment Artist
I got an art test first that I had about two weeks to finish, before even talking to anyone about if we'd be a good fit. After I sent it in and they liked it, they quickly set up an on-site interview. It was pretty chill, not too hard, but a bit weird. Only one person seemed really interested in me, and she wasn't even management. The managers seemed bored, mostly just talking about how great the company is instead of seeing if I'd fit in. They perked up when showing off the place and projects, but it felt more like they liked hyping themselves up. Then they gave me a low offer. When I tried to negotiate, the rep was kinda rude, implying I wasn't worth what I asked for or what others offered. I didn't feel valued at all; it seemed like they just wanted to fill the spot without caring about me or if I'd fit. The team is talented and the tech is cool, but the culture felt off.
- Tell me about the decisions you made on the art test.
- What was your reasoning behind the choices you made in the art test?
- Can you walk me through your thought process for the art test?
Executive
I was interviewed straight away by the main owner of the company. He was detailed, thoughtful, and decent throughout the whole thing. He asked direct questions that showed me he really wanted to make the best games ever, treat his current team super well, and build games that players would adore. There was also a big emphasis on if I'd fit in with the company culture, which is super important for building and keeping a good, happy, and winning company.
- What games are you playing right now?
- Tell me about your experience, skills, and acumen.
- Playing games matters at this company when making hiring decisions.
3D Artist
First, you'll submit your portfolio and resume. If that goes well, they'll call you for a phone interview, and then send you an art test. This studio is pretty cool because they give you a good amount of time, like 7-10 days, to finish the art test, so you can really make it shine. After you pass the art test, you'll have an in-person interview at their studio. You can drive there, or if you're too far away, they'll cover your travel. They'll give you a tour and see if you're a good fit. It's a pretty chill vibe. Usually, you'll get an offer before you leave, and you'll have two weeks to decide.

Technical Artist
Started with an email intro chat. Then, I had to do a coding test in python covering basic python and coding concepts. After that, there was an art test focused on rigging and understanding what makes a good technical artist. Finally, an email follow-up. It was a pleasant experience!
- Questions about rigging
- Questions about IK and FK
- Questions about Python scripting
