The whole process was pretty chill and took only 2 days. First up was a chat with the hiring manager where they asked about my past work and gave me a C# .NET coding challenge. It wasn't super hard, but they seemed to want a fast, logical solution. The next day, I went in person for another interview, similar vibe but with a SQL coding challenge. Also not too tough, just gotta talk through your thinking.

The company has a quick hiring process. I had two phone interviews within two weeks of applying. The first one went well, but the second one didn't. I didn't like that the first interviewer mentioned the job was 15-20 hours a week, like the posting said, but the District Manager in the second interview said it could be 30-40 hours if I was willing to cover extra shifts. The DM implied I could get more hours if someone else cancelled, making their scheduling seem disorganized and prone to last-minute changes. I applied because the job posting had specific days and hours, but the second interview made it seem unstructured, like a bait-and-switch. The DM asked me if I still wanted to move forward after the second interview. Also, the DM sounded unpleasant, like they were yelling, during the phone interview, which bothered me. I decided to take another job offer.

I put in an application for this role through a job site online. A recruiter called me and then passed my info along to their HR person for the field. That HR person reached out to schedule an interview, and we set it up. The person I met with was nice, dressed really casually, and seemed a little preoccupied. She mentioned she'd let me know her decision either way within a day after our chat. It's been four days now and I haven't heard back.

The interview process was a wonderful experience, my interviewer was able to answer all of my questions and the whole process was done remotely which made it a lot easier. I was able to complete the whole thing while my baby napped. No need to hire child care just for an interview.
