Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RCLCO.
Senior Associate
It started with resume collection from on-campus MBA students. Then there was an online quiz, followed by a phone interview. I wasn't invited to an in-person interview, but that would have been the next step.
- Using provided data on a building, its surrounding area, available space, expenses, and similar cities, decide on a development location.

The interview process had three steps for me. First, there was an on-campus interview with two senior people. It was mostly behavioral; they asked about my experience, my interests, my thoughts on real estate, etc. About a week after that, I got a five-question online web quiz that checked quantitative and qualitative abilities. I didn't find it too hard, but I guess many people get cut here, so make sure to double-check your answers. A little while later, I was invited for a final day of interviews. I had about four interviews, each lasting around 30-45 minutes. Three of these interviews had multiple interviewers, and the last one was a one-on-one with the CEO. Important note: Some of my emails weren't getting through the company's server, and for a time, they thought I was being unresponsive. If you don't hear back, be persistent until you get a response.
- The entire interview with the CEO involved many difficult personality questions asked quickly.

I applied online and they got back to me fast for a phone interview. After that, I had a final interview on Skype with 4 people. The whole thing was super quick, chill, and straightforward. The office manager who set everything up was really on top of emails and helpful. The only thing I didn't love was being asked for my references and having to chase them down when it seemed like they'd already decided after the interviews.
- Could you answer some brief qualitative/quantitative case questions, likely involving simple math if you have prior real estate experience?
- Can you compare real estate data from different cities and provide a recommendation?
- Could you perform floor-area-ratio calculations?
