First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RCA Music Group.
Marketing and Digital
We had an assessment day which was a group interview with group tasks. It lasted from 12am to 5pm. It was a pretty chilled day and not too stressful.
- What is your experience with administrative tasks, and would it be an issue for you that it is not a creative role?
- Do you have any experience with admin work, and is it a problem that it isn’t creative?
Digital Marketing
So there was this one video interview, then a phone chat with the recruiter. After that, I talked to the VP, then the digital team and the director of marketing. They also gave me a digital assignment. It felt like a really drawn-out and complex process, and honestly, it was hard to get a clear idea of what they were really looking for in a candidate.
- Can you tell me about your digital marketing background?
- What unique value do you offer to our team?
- What kind of music do you enjoy?
Sales
It was a really chill interview process. I talked about what I wanted to get out of the experience and what music I liked. We also went over what the day-to-day would be like. The interviewer explained the kind of experience I'd get in Sales. The whole thing lasted about 35-40 minutes.
- Considering the music industry is always evolving, how do you envision its future over the next five years?
Sales
The recruiter interview was pretty standard, like they didn't really get what I do. The actual interview with the department was disorganized and rushed. It seemed like the department was stressed and the leaders weren't very confident.
- What's your estimate for first-week sales of the (XXX) album?
