& Process

The process was short. I thought it was going well at first. Then, I was ghosted and never heard from anyone again. I had an interview scheduled that was never cancelled or rescheduled. There are more professional ways to handle interviews, but this shows how this agency treats people. I used to really want to work for this agency, but I feel like I narrowly avoided a bad situation.

I applied and HR contacted me first to ask my expected salary. We had a conversation, and then she scheduled an hour-long call with the hiring manager. 30 minutes prior, I got an email saying it would be a video conference, which was unexpected. The call with the hiring manager went well, and then I was scheduled for 3 separate 30-minute conversations with team members. Those were basic situational questions and seemed to go well. The HR person emailed me Friday asking about those interviews and said a decision would be made early the next week. I got the verbal offer on Friday of that week, for less than I expected, and was told I'd get the offer letter that day or Monday. That didn't happen. On Tuesday of the next week, I got some paperwork and an apology for the delay. I followed up about the official offer, and was told end-of-week. That didn't happen either. The following Monday, I got an email about system changes and HR figuring out which system to use for the offer, with another "hopefully end of week." That Friday, I got an email about "moving parts" and a call with the hiring manager. On the call, I was told they had an internal applicant and were rescinding my verbal offer, 2 weeks after it was made. They said they'd let me know their choice by the end of the next week. I never heard from them again. I felt strung along and lied to, as they were likely buying time for the internal applicant and looking for a cheaper hire, instead of being upfront.

I applied for a position in early July 2023. A recruiter contacted me a few days later to set up an initial video interview. After that, I had three video interviews with future colleagues. Finally, I had one last video interview with my direct manager. I received an offer about a week after the last interview. The whole process took roughly a month. It was a really smooth experience; everyone on the team was friendly and professional, and HR was very open about everything throughout.

I was first contacted by a recruiter toward the end of May. We had a phone conversation, and they were really nice, but then they didn't follow up with me about my status in the interview process, even though they said they'd be in touch within a week. They also told me to reach out if I didn't hear from them, so I've contacted them a couple of times over the last two months and got no response each time.
