First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Raven Industries.
Project Manager
The interview process was very typical and laid back. The dress code was very casual, as was the environment. I was shuffled from room to room, experiencing different environments. HR was not present for most of the discussion, only for the formal process review.
- Can you describe a project you managed that exceeded $1M in value?
Research Engineer
I had a meeting with a Staff Designer and some team members. They asked about my past experience. It turns out they are looking for people with software development experience, but I'm interested in hardware positions, so we didn't go into more detailed questions.
- Can you explain why you are interested in our company?
- What is your experience with controller programming?
Software Engineer
So I had this first chat with the recruiter. It was like 20 mins, we chatted about my skills and experience and how the interview process works. It was a nice chat. The recruiter asked me to email my availability for the next round of interviews and I emailed him back pretty quick, like within an hour. A whole week passed and I didn't hear back so I sent another email to follow up. The recruiter responded a couple days later and said they had been busy and asked me to send additional availability for the next week. None of my available times worked for them so he asked if I could do a call over my lunch break. I agreed to do the phone call over lunch but I never heard back. It was a really unprofessional and negative experience.
- Tell me about your skills and experience.
Assistant General Counsel
Had a phone interview with HR. The job description didn't really align with what the HR person said was needed. Like, the posting said help with M&A, but HR said it was a main job and they wanted someone way more experienced than the 2 years of corporate counsel experience posted. Also, they said the M&A would be solely the new person's responsibility, which is totally different than just assisting as the posting implied. This is a new role, taking work from other lawyers in a small team of 2 or 3 under the GC. Overall, pretty standard interview. HR mentioned that the GC would make the decisions for the next interview stage.
- Tell me about your interest in this role.
- Can you share your experience with mergers and acquisitions?
- What is your experience with reviewing contracts?
