First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rave Motion Pictures.

They contacted me about a month after I applied. I went in for an initial interview, and then it took about 3 weeks to hear back. The questions were pretty basic, with a couple of situational ones and some interesting ones like "What three words would your best friend use to describe you?" It was a very laid-back interview. I then got the call saying I got the job and went in to do the paperwork.
- Suppose you owned the building and there was a very long line. A customer who had been waiting a very long time approached to get a refill on a medium popcorn, but refills are only allowed on large popcorn. What would you do in this situation?

I applied online back in mid-March. About five weeks later, in mid-April, I got a call. On a Wednesday, they had this quick phone call, asking if I was really interested in the company and stuff. Then they offered me a group interview for the next Monday. So, the group interview happened on Monday with like 11 other people applying, and two managers ran it. They asked us some basic stuff, like what we thought about movies, actors, our past customer experiences, and our education. At the end, we had to do a skills test, a math test, and a personality test. It felt a bit long, especially for a first interview, and a group one at that. Didn't get the job though.
- What are your life goals or aspirations?
- Who would you choose to play you in a movie and what's your reasoning?
Lead Manager
So, first I had a phone chat with a Regional Manager. We talked about my experience, when I could start, and how I'd deal with lots of customer service issues. Then, a few days later, I went in for a one-on-one with the General Manager at the Destin theatre. They mentioned that being able to relocate is a must, and we also talked about the pay.
- Are you open to relocating for this position?
- How would you manage a situation with an angry customer when you know it's not your fault?
Assistant Manager
I had to apply online since they don't do paper applications anymore. The application takes a while, but honestly, we never looked at those questions when I was an HR manager, so it's not that big of a deal. I got a call for an interview. I showed up a bit early and waited. An assistant manager interviewed me in the box office area. She mostly used my application and asked me to explain my answers. She really cared about my availability, especially weekends and holidays like Christmas. You should definitely say yes to those! Also, know your favorite movies and be ready to talk about how you'd promote a new movie. They might give you a basic math test too, like they did for me. After about 10 minutes of chatting, they offered me the job, and I signed a background check form.
- Can you elaborate on your application responses?
- Tell me about your availability, particularly for weekends and holidays.
- Which movies are your favorite?
