I had 6 rounds in total, not counting the initial HR phone screens which were pleasant. The technical interviews involved LeetCode easy and medium problems. There was a difficult code review interview that was poorly explained and I only had 15 minutes to do it. I also interviewed with a product manager, where I was asked about monetization and how I'd advocate for a customer, which felt a bit odd for an engineering role that isn't customer-facing. The final technical interview focused on OOP. When I asked a question about error handling, the interviewer reacted dismissively. It felt like everyone was overworked and didn't really have the capacity for interviews. I didn't get an offer because they said I needed more experience, which they likely could have assessed earlier.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design Other

The interview process kicked off with a recruiter call, followed by a hiring manager screen. Then came a technical screen focusing on data structures and algorithms (DS&A), and a coding round also centered on DS&A. Next was a code review exercise and a system design interview where I had to design a software system from scratch. The project deep dive focused on a complex data platform design I owned, which I could explain verbally or draw on a whiteboard. Finally, there was a behavioral interview centered on leadership behaviors. The whole process felt pretty lengthy but most interviewers were friendly. DS&A questions were generally easy to medium difficulty.

Behavioral Technical Coding

Had an intro meeting with the hiring manager. Then there were two technical coding interviews, each about an hour long, focused on data structures and algorithms. Also had a behavioral interview about my previous work. Overall, I liked the interview process and the people.
