I had a tough technical interview over Zoom. They really dug into how I solve problems and asked me to go over my GitHub projects, covering the architecture and code.

I applied through an external job platform. First, I had an initial recruiter interview where I discussed my past experiences. A few days later, I was asked to share code from my repository or complete a coding test. I chose to share existing code from an app I developed. After that, they went silent. I suspect they stole my code and ran a fake hiring process, as other reviews mention a similar experience. This seems to be a common tactic, and I believe Rapptr Labs is doing it too, possibly targeting non-US individuals to avoid legal issues. Avoid them.

First, they sent me a coding challenge to build an app with some pre-written instructions and a few bugs to fix. After I submitted my resume and the challenge, they said I did well and liked my resume. Next was an hour-long interview with open-ended questions that were a mix of junior and more advanced levels. Even if I answered correctly at first, they dug deeper to try and trip me up. The second interview process was a bit intimidating as three interviewers asked different questions to test my knowledge. My overall experience was bad because they ghosted me and didn't send a rejection letter after all the time spent interviewing, which is unprofessional.

The interview was scheduled with two people and felt pretty relaxed. Originally, it was set to happen with them, but it got canceled about 45 minutes before it was supposed to start. I was basically moved to the second stage interview, which was the next day. This didn't really bother me because I get that things can change unexpectedly. I did put together a writing sample specifically for them, and even though they said they'd get back to me on a specific day (multiple times), I didn't hear anything after the interview. I ended up emailing them three weeks after they were supposed to reply, and they finally responded saying I wasn't successful. I know it can be tough to get back to everyone, but if you've gone through the effort of interviewing and creating work (on your own initiative) as part of your application, the least they could do is just send an email to let you know you didn't get the job.
