Market Research Manager
It was straightforward, mostly just chatting with the hiring manager. We talked about my past experience, what the job involves, some of the challenges the business is facing, and how this role can help people out.
- What skills or expertise do you possess that could benefit the business?
Category Manager
I'm happy with how everything turned out and that I took the offer because my final chat with my manager really sealed the deal – we'd totally click. No regrets here. However, I do think they could have planned the interviews better. They took ages to get back to me, and when they said I'd hear something by a certain day, that didn't happen. I had to chase them up a bunch to get any kind of response. I'd already told them I was interviewing elsewhere, so quick replies were pretty important. Even though it ended well, they could make the candidate experience smoother by actually hitting those communication deadlines they promise and keeping in touch more without me having to ask.
- Tell me about your experience with procurement, specifically in the construction sector.
- What's your process for vetting and choosing a new supplier?
- Could you explain how you would perform a background check on a prospective company or supplier?
Business Analyst
Recruiter tried to schedule a call, but it didn't happen. About three weeks later, I got an interview invite for a 45-minute session. The interviewer was really rude and kept interrupting me, not letting me answer questions fully. I wouldn't suggest this company.
- Can you describe how you handle challenging stakeholders?
- Could you explain what functional and non-functional requirements are?
Resource
I applied online and got a call from HR to discuss the role. Then, the Hiring Manager was supposed to call me. About a week later, I had a telephone interview. After that, I was told I'd have a face-to-face interview a week later with another manager and an HR rep. I went to the London office at St James Park, but the interview wasn't there. Instead, we went to a Debenhams coffee shop across the street, which was pretty busy and not ideal.
- Questions focused on the role and your previous experience.
- Can you describe your past experience in relation to this position?
