First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ramp.
Customer Service Agent
The interview process lasted almost two months. It kicked off with a one-way video interview where I had to answer three questions. Next, there was a written assessment, which involved responding to four customer email scenarios, requiring a total of nine responses and taking about an hour. Following that, I went through a sequence of live interviews: a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, another 30-minute session with a product manager, and a 30-minute talk with a customer service leader. The final interview was with the Director of Customer Service, who was new to the position. I consistently got good feedback throughout the process from everyone I spoke with, except during the final interview. That conversation felt quite different; no new questions were asked, there was minimal engagement, and no notes were taken, which gave me the impression a decision might have already been made. When the recruiter later sent me the rejection email, they mentioned that other candidates were chosen, even though the role is still advertised. I asked for specific feedback to help me improve, but was told it was a tough decision among many strong applicants. Considering the length and effort involved in the process, the lack of clear feedback made it feel like a substantial time commitment with little clarity on how the final decision was reached.

Customer Service Agent
Ramp reached out via email, asking for a written assessment and an AI virtual interview. There was no contact for questions or updates. After a long wait with no word, my application was rejected without grading the assessment. I won't reapply because they wasted my time.

Customer Service Representative
They had me do a detailed assessment where I had to respond to customer emails and scenarios using their resources like FAQs and the help center. I also had to record myself answering three common interview questions. I'm not sure what they were looking for, because after a week, I got an email saying it wasn't a good fit. I put a lot of effort into the assessment, finishing it on time and linking the relevant articles, even explaining my thought process. I also researched their website and demos beforehand. Despite having years of customer support experience, including in Fintech for years at my last company, it didn't work out. The three video questions were pretty standard screening questions. It seemed like a great opportunity, but I'm not sure what else I could have done differently. Good luck to future candidates, hope this helps!
