My interview at VMWare was very good. The last person who came for an interview was not prepared and asking silly questions like how much you know in switch. He even asked me a puzzle and when I answered it, he was not accepting that the answer is correct and nor telling me the correct answer.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • There are three light bulbs inside a room, each connected to one of three switches outside the room. You can manipulate the switches before entering the room, but once you enter, you cannot touch them again. How can you determine which switch corresponds to each light bulb?

Started with a recruiter phone screen, then a phone interview with the hiring manager. The on-site interviews lasted half a day and included the manager and team members. It was mostly technical and focused on past experiences. Everyone on the team was upfront with answers. I think if you've worked in chip development, this interview process would be easy to navigate. It wasn't complicated.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Could you describe your approach to project verification?

So, they asked me a bunch of questions about my resume, then threw 2 tech questions at me. First was about arrays - checking if array 1 has array 2 in it. Second was the classic two sum problem, you know, find pairs in an array that add up to the target.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • For arrays, tell me if array 1 contains array 2.
  • Solve the two sum problem: find pairs in an array that equal the target.
