Rainforest QA Interview Questions
& Process

I met with the Director of Customer Success, then had 30-minute meetings with 3 team members. After that, I had an email outreach assignment where I had to draft a response to a prompt and then present a mock call presentation to the team, including the COO. I also had 1:1 meetings with the COO and then the CEO. Early on, I told the People Operations Manager about another offer I had and they assured me Rainforest QA's offer would be in range, so I continued. I got feedback on my presentation and positive feedback from the COO. A meeting with the CEO felt like a strong sign of an offer, especially after an email mentioned they planned to move forward with an offer. After that, I submitted reference checks. Then I was told there were scheduling conflicts for a reference call, pushing it to Friday, which was my deadline for the other offer. I asked to escalate, and the next day I received a generic rejection email citing issues with the email assignment and mock presentation, which confused me given I had met with the COO and CEO. I was frustrated by the process and the lack of a personal rejection, especially after being told an offer was likely. It turned out to be a good thing as I ultimately received an even better offer elsewhere, and I also learned the company had significant layoffs.

I applied online on 11/14/2017. I got a call back the next day, 11/15, to set up a phone interview with the Senior Accountant. We had the phone interview on 11/16, where they asked about my background, experiences, and goals. Later that day, they sent me a take-home assessment, due in 2 business days, which I finished on 11/17. On 11/19, they invited me for an onsite interview between 11/27-11/29. Since that was right after Thanksgiving and I was traveling, they rescheduled me for 12/5. Unfortunately, on 12/4, they canceled my interview because the position was filled. Super unprofessional to cancel so late!

Recruiter rescheduled the morning of my first phone interview due to "technical difficulties" not sure what the issue could be as it was only a phone scree. Then the next time I waited 10 minutes after our call time and recruiter never called. I emailed her to see if what was up and she called and didn't even apologize for being 10 minutes late. Bizarre.

I applied online and heard back in a week or two. Rainforest wanted to move forward, so they scheduled a phone call with the hiring manager. After talking with the hiring manager, I went onsite to meet with various Rainforest team members to assess fit for the role and the team. The next steps included reference checks and a call with the VP of Sales. I felt valued and respected throughout the process; they were very professional.
