First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers.
Rehabilitation Assistant
After applying online, a recruiter called me for a phone interview. A few days later, I had an in-person interview where they asked basic "have you ever" and "how would you react" questions, and also went over my resume. The interview took a turn when they mentioned that training was mandatory at their corporate office in Livonia, MI, Monday through Friday, from about 8 am to 5 pm. Even though I had already shown them my school schedule and told them during the phone interview that I was a full-time student, they still wanted me to see if I could miss class, which was concerning as it was around midterms time.
- Would you be able to attend the training at our Livonia office during the specified week, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm?
Rehabilitation Assistant
You'll interview at the fancy headquarters in Livonia. They'll make sure that if you get hired, that you're able to start a week long paid training process as soon as possible. They'll ask you about your experience and which shift you'd prefer. Prepare yourself for a lot of "what would you do if..." questions.
- If a client on a smoking program, permitted three cigarettes daily, asks for a fourth after already having three, what action would you take?
Resident Assistant
The interview was arranged over the phone, and I suspected it might be a large group interview. Once I got there, I talked with the HR person and one of the managers from the facility.
- Have you ever broken rules?
- Would you let a resident have an extra cigarette if they were acting out but promised to stop?
- What makes you want to work here?
Rehab Assistant
The interview was really relaxed and easy. The interviewer asked me why I wanted to work in this field and then told me how things work at the company. They also asked some questions about specific situations.
- What makes you want to work here?
- Can you describe the situations you've encountered?
- Tell me about your interest in this field.
