Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RadioShack.
Sales Manager
It was a really long process, with about 5 to 7 interviews, some over the phone and some in person. They had us fill out a lot of paperwork, and it felt like several interviewers asked the exact same questions. They were also pretty slow to get back to us. What they described in the job description wasn't really what the day-to-day work turned out to be.
- Are there any standard questions you typically ask?
- Can you describe your experience in sales management?
- Could you share an example of a difficult sales situation and how you managed it?
Sales Manager
It was pretty simple, I just walked into the back of the Radio Shack, sat down at a desk, and they asked me about my past jobs and how good I am at selling cell phones.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- Can you discuss your previous work experiences?
- Describe your ability to sell cell phones.
Sales Manager
I was recruited from Payless shoes by the District Manager. I had one interview with him. I also worked for two weeks while on vacation from Payless. The interview was more about my concerns as the District manager had been shopping my store for quite awhile.
- Given your lack of experience in commission-based roles, how do you anticipate adapting?
- How do you think you'll adjust to a commission-based sales environment since you haven't worked in one before?
