Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Radiant Waxing.
Licensed Esthetician
They asked me about my experience and what I'm looking for in an employer. They said I seemed like a great fit and would be a great addition to the team. But, I missed like one of the three email threads they were sending me, and they just assumed I wasn't interested anymore instead of checking with me.
- Were you asked about your experience?
- Were you asked what you expected out of an employer?
- Were you asked if you were comfortable waxing men?
Waxologist
I had a first facetime chat with the owner of the franchise. He was really nice and patient, and treated me well. He was curious but also real and friendly. As we finished up the interview (I think it went well), we planned a time to meet up face-to-face. Then I met with both him and his wife who is in charge of all the salons now.
- What's your work history and experience in waxing?
- How would you describe your ability to be a team player?
- Can you tell me what beautiful, collaborative, and purposeful mean to you?
Wax Specialist
The interview process was pretty standard, though they initially passed on me, then contacted me again months later for another interview. They were really slow to respond, which made me think I was a strong candidate. During the working interview, I mostly stayed at the receptionist desk and didn't get to interact with the manager much. When I finally spoke with the manager briefly, she said she'd let me know in a few days after interviewing others. It felt like poor management, leading candidates on while interviewing multiple people.
- What does culture mean to you?
Waxologist
I had a phone interview with N. Lecher, and then an in-person interview with her and P. Lane, her co-franchisee. They hired me, but then asked me to recruit at my previous job. After leading me on for several months, they terminated my employment when I was hospitalized for a respiratory disease.
- Would you be okay with doing male Brazilian waxing if we hire you?
- Do you prefer to work full-time or part-time?
