First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at R&D Systems.

The whole interview process spanned just over two weeks. I talked with the lab manager and two other lab members. Most of the interview questions focused on my lab skills and experience, as well as my understanding of basic techniques like Affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, and Western blots. I didn't find the interview overly challenging. The lab team was really welcoming and helpful, giving me details about the role and what the daily tasks would involve.
- Based on a problem provided, how would you determine the concentration of a solution?
- Could you elaborate on your previous laboratory experience?
- Can you explain the mechanisms of IEC, AC, and SEC?

The interview process involved one-on-one interviews with the Recruiter, Hiring Manager, and Supervisor. The Manager and Recruiter focused on situational questions, while the Supervisor asked about my knowledge of techniques and daily tasks. The Manager's questions were mainly situational, asking for examples of stressful situations and discussing targets and deadlines, along with some resume-related questions. The Recruiter inquired about my long-term goals, 5-year plan, interest in the position, and knowledge of the company.
- I was expecting more technical questions, but it turned out to be situational, which was unexpected.

Applied many times but never got through HR. No idea what finally worked, but actual interview process was quick. Most of the hiring decision was made before the interview. Hiring manager had no idea what current business practices were.
