First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Röchling.
Automotive Researcher
The whole thing took about 6 hours and included 3 interviews. Even though the job was overseas, they didn't pay for travel or hotel for the last interview which was in person. I also had to deal with some bad behavior, especially from the manager who was kind of a jerk and condescending. It made me think the work environment might be toxic.
- Can you share some details about your background and your knowledge of electric car hardware?
Process Engineer
I first had a phone screen with an engineer. Then I was invited to set up an in-person interview, and they told me they usually only do one before deciding on an offer. After that, I scheduled a second in-person interview a couple of weeks later with different people. Finally, about a week after that, I had another phone call with an engineer I interviewed with to discuss which of the open roles would be a good fit. They made an offer several days later. I accepted the offer within their specified time frame, but then they delayed responding to my acceptance and tried to withdraw the offer, which was really disappointing.
- How would you manufacture this component?
- Can you describe a typical day in your current role?
- What kind of business would you start if you had $300,000?
Receptionist
The hiring process began with a friendly welcome and a short wait, during which beverages were offered. The interview followed a standard format. Afterwards, the workspace and other facilities were shown, and a trial day was scheduled. The company responded to the application by phone within a day.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Could you describe your key strengths?
- What are your main weaknesses?
