I went in person and the hiring manager asked me some basic questions. They wanted to know why I thought I'd be a good candidate for the job and for me to describe my most recent job experience.

I applied for the gas attendant job online and got a call to set up an interview. I met with the gas manager for what seemed like a good interview. Near the end, I talked to the general manager. I mentioned I'd applied for food prep before. He said they were opening a new location and some staff would move there. He offered to move me into food prep if I got the gas attendant job, or he'd call me about the food prep role if I didn't get the other one. I never heard back from either manager regarding either position.

You can get job application paperwork at local stores, just walk in and fill one out. Since there are typically many applicants, if you're serious about getting an interview or hired, I recommend calling frequently to increase your chances of getting a callback. Ensure any tattoos can be covered and wear conservative jewelry. Your interview will consist of two parts, with two different interviewers asking very similar questions and taking notes to compare later. The applications tend to pile up and go unnoticed.

First, I submitted a paper application. Then, I waited to hear back if they were hiring and interested. Shortly after, I was contacted for a one-on-one interview where they asked general questions about food service. Finally, I had to attend an eight-hour training day.
