Marketing
The interview process was pretty simple and straightforward. It mostly consisted of talking about my past work and experiences, and how my skills fit the role.
- Can you tell me about a project that you are particularly proud of and the reasons why?
Accountant
The first interview was a video call with my direct manager. It was pretty easy, and she did most of the talking. Then, I had an onsite interview with four people: a team member, HR, the department executive, and my direct manager again. The chat with the team member was good; he asked typical questions about accomplishments and mistakes. The executive over the department asked what the others had told me about the job duties. I got nervous and couldn't recall exactly, so I just listed the duties from the job description. He then questioned if I was really interested, which really threw me off. I couldn't recover, and it made me realize this wasn't the place for me, even though I stayed for the rest of the interviews. Oh, and make sure to check the company's address because the one on the letterhead and website was wrong.
- Can you share your proudest work accomplishments?
- Describe a time you made a mistake and what you learned from it.
- What are your strengths?

The interview process started unexpectedly with a series of four interviews involving seven people, skipping the typical HR screen for logistics like availability and salary. The hiring manager initially forgot about the first interview. The second interview, with three team members, proceeded without role context due to the missed first interview. The second and third interviews went well despite the rocky start. A final interview with the hiring manager followed, where I was asked about my salary expectations. When I asked about the role's salary range, the hiring manager was unsure and had to check, which seemed unusual given the number of interviews. The offered salary seemed low for the role's seniority, workload, and location. I inquired about benefits, but the hiring manager had limited information and never sent the promised details. After this, I was asked for references, and only two were contacted. A decision was expected by Friday, but I didn't hear back until Tuesday, after I followed up. I was informed I was not chosen, despite being called an exceptional candidate. A request for feedback on areas for improvement went unanswered. The overall HR process felt disorganized and unprofessional, with a lack of follow-up and communication, making me feel like I dodged a bullet.
- How would you handle situations where senior management frequently changes project details, affecting deadlines and budget?
- Describe how you manage yourself in stressful situations.
- What are your strategies for managing and communicating with difficult individuals?
