The recruiter screening was pretty by-the-book, like they were reading off a list. It was less a chat and more like an automated test, but the recruiter was nice. The team was great at communicating, respected my time, and was upfront. The hiring manager seemed really invested in getting to know candidates, looking at potential and career goals, not just past jobs. He seemed to really care about finding the right work-life balance for his team – challenging but not overwhelming. I bet he supports his team well. Meeting the team was awesome; they were so enthusiastic about their work and each other. It was clear they loved their jobs and colleagues. Even with limited interaction, that positive vibe really came through. Even though another candidate was better in the final round, I'd definitely consider this team again. The company seems to really live its values, not just with employees but with candidates too.

The interview process was fantastic and I wish more companies were like this. From the first interaction, it was obvious that the interviewers valued my time and were very upfront about their expectations and timelines. I had a phone screening on a Wednesday (3-4 days after submitting my application), a Zoom interview with two team leads the following Monday, and one final VP interview that Thursday. I received an offer on Friday, about 2 weeks after applying.

No HR screen, which was a pleasant surprise. However, the interviewer was late and rude, seeming uninterested in me. I have so many questions about why I was even called in. It was such a bizarre interview that I contacted HR afterward about the negative experience. I was told my answers were 'wimpy,' but given the vague questions and disengaged interviewer, I don't see how I could have impressed them. The company's mission is fascinating, and I wanted to give them another chance, especially from a talent acquisition company that should have a top-notch process. But it was just a terrible interview that soured my day.

I applied online and a hiring manager got in touch. They didn't call at the scheduled time and it wasn't clear if they used a conference call system. For future interviews, the company should probably personalize that information when they schedule interviews. I also noticed a red flag because the role specified limited professional experience, which suggests this might not be a diverse workplace, which is disappointing considering they aim to help other companies become strong workplaces. This is the wording from the job announcement: • 1 - 4 years of professional experience preferred. I also noticed that the Glassdoor reviews for employees tend to be very uniform - another red flag.
