I applied through an external recruiter. The first round involved a discussion with the Hiring Manager and an engineer, covering many technical aspects from the job description, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes. I answered all questions easily. There was also a live coding assessment that was straightforward, using a LeetCode style. The second round was a take-home practical test where I had to deploy an application in Kubernetes and detail all the steps, which was quite simple for someone experienced with k8s. The third round was meant to be a presentation of a past work or personal project to a panel of engineers. They seemed very interested in moving forward, but then communication slowed down, and they stopped responding to my emails even after I followed up multiple times. Despite providing comprehensive answers in the interview and the practical test, detailing everything I did, they ultimately stated I lacked sufficient experience and my salary expectations were too high, even though they were within their stated range. It felt like a complete joke, as if they were just looking to hire someone cheap for a senior role.

The process was pretty smooth. First, an HR person reached out to chat about what you're looking for, just to pass that info along to the team. They seemed nice. If everything looks good, they'll set up an interview. The interviewer was also friendly and asked me some questions about Kubernetes, plus a quick coding test. After that, there's a take-home test and another technical interview.

So, first I had an interview with two engineers where we talked about general devops stuff and a coding challenge. Then there was a take-home assessment for kubernetes. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, and I had to do a presentation on a project I led. We also discussed the kubernetes assessment and other general devops topics.
