Then I had a meeting with the lead team and a senior member where they asked me about my background and technical skills like Airflow, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and FastAPI, wanting to know what I know and how I've used them. They were nice. I got another offer, so I stopped.

I met with the Principal Scientist first, which made me feel the team was well-managed. Then, I had a culture fit interview with the talent partner. After that, there was a technical assessment where I was given a project with specific instructions and goals, including scope and technology constraints. They emphasized approach and reasoning over scores and gave ample time for improvement. Next, I had a chat-style interview with two team members where they asked about my background and technical skills. The final stage was a compound interview with the Principal Scientist and another team member. This involved reviewing my technical project and a whiteboard assessment, which felt like a brainstorming session for designing a solution. The whole process wasn't easy or short, but it suggests that accepted candidates will work with like-minded people. It was a good learning experience.

I had an initial chat with a senior person at Quantexa over Teams. It was alright but pretty formal. Then, I got sent a take-home coding test. It was interesting but involved a lot of setup, which took up time and didn't really let me show what I can do in advanced analytics, ML, and ML strategy, which was a bit of a bummer. These tests can be tough for people with busy jobs and families, maybe that's intentional. The worst part, though, was after I submitted my test, I got an acknowledgement and a follow-up email a week later, but then nothing for 3 weeks. I guess the job's gone and my effort wasn't worth a response or feedback. It's a shame because the company is doing cool stuff. It's a small world, and I might end up as a client or advising clients on AML solutions someday and I'll remember this process.
