The interview process was straightforward and not too difficult. The recruiter kept me well-informed throughout. It started with a screening interview, then I spoke with the hiring manager. The main interview involved meeting directors from various departments that support this role. The questions were pretty easy, mostly asking about my past experiences and hypothetical situations.

Applied online and got a screening interview. The person called 7 minutes late. They didn't explain the role or company. They asked why I left my last job, why I left the job before that, and about the biggest work adversity I've faced and how I handled it. While I was answering the third question, they took another call. They returned 10 minutes later and I finished my answer. About 5 minutes were left. They seemed keen to end the call early and didn't ask if I had questions. I mentioned why I'd be a good fit before they hung up, but it didn't feel like they wanted to know more. It's tough enough in the job market, so to get an interview, prepare, and not get a chance to explain why you're a good fit beyond one adversity question is disappointing. Hope others don't have this experience.

Applied for field application scientist in Italy in Feb 2022. The whole process took two months and included 5 interviews. The final interview was a technical presentation of an instrument of my choice in front of the entire team, which had about ten people, not just scientists. After each interview, the managers made me feel like I was already part of the team. The preparation for the presentation was very demanding during one week of work. After the presentation, they all congratulated me and I thought I got the job. Result: after 2 weeks of silence, I got a generic email saying I was not selected. I asked for an explanation but never got one. I would suggest less demanding selection processes (5 interviews...) and a final answer. Being discarded is normal, but respect for the candidate must be maintained, especially after two months.

I went through three interviews and then got totally ghosted after the final one. I followed-up with the recruiter a week later and still never heard back. Super unprofessional and rude. To my knowledge, all of my interviews went well and I was told that I was a good fit for the role. I don't understand why they couldn't just send out a rejection email. Ghosting after multiple interviews says a lot about the company and the lack of respect it has for its applicants.
