I had an interview with Quantcast for an Account Executive role. It was a really good, efficient, and thorough process. They took the time to get to know me and made sure I understood their business and culture. First, there was a phone screen with the main recruiter. Then, I had 4 in-person interviews. After that, I did a sales pitch in front of a panel of 5-6 people, followed by an interview with that panel. Next, I had a follow-up interview with the Sales Manager and then another with the lead recruiter. They really wanted to make sure I was a good fit and understand why I wanted to work there. The office seemed busy and lively, with a good mix of startup vibe and corporate strategy. It was the best interview experience I've had, and I got the offer!

Behavioral Presentation

So I got in through a referral, which I think is a good idea. First, I had a quick chat on the phone with the recruiter, even though I was out of town. The recruiters were super nice and kept me in the loop, even if it wasn't the fastest process ever. After the phone screen, I had a bunch of one-on-one chats with some of the sales folks. They were really into learning about me and also happy to talk about the company and what the job would be like. It made me more excited about potentially joining and gave me a realistic look at things. The last part was a panel presentation where I had about 15-20 minutes to pitch a product or service using a PowerPoint. The point wasn't to sell Quantcast, but more to do a practice sales pitch on something I knew about or was passionate about. There wasn't much talking outside of the presentation itself. I got some feedback, asked a few questions, and then heard back a few days later. Mostly behavioral questions, nothing too crazy.

  • You'll need to get a 15-20 minute presentation ready, complete with a PowerPoint, to pitch to the sales team for the main part of the final interview.

Behavioral Case

Went through 7 interviews for this Account Executive role over 3 weeks and was told I got the job, but they couldn't offer it until it became available. I waited and followed up when I saw the job posted again. They assured me the job was mine and the new post was just a backup. After almost 3 months, they finally gave feedback: they're now looking for someone more senior for the role, so I won't be put forward. Really unprofessional!
