The interview process was a total disaster - they kept rescheduling, interviewers didn't show up, I got conflicting info from different people, they asked the same things over and over, and there were long silent stretches. They really wasted my time and didn't give me any feedback at all.

I was contacted by a headhunter about the VP of Sales position at Quake Global and they asked me to interview for what they framed as a chance to help grow and elevate the company. Part of this was a presentation to a panel of leaders, including the President/CEO. It was a pretty bad interview experience. The CEO was rude, interrupted me a lot, and seemed to want to show off rather than have a real talk. She bashed her own team and acted like she was competing with her salespeople instead of leading them. The panel was scared to speak up when the CEO was wrong, and you could feel the tension—like nobody wanted to challenge her, even if it hurt the company. When I suggested ways to grow and improve things, the CEO got defensive without giving any real reasons or ideas. It was clear the issues weren't the people or product, but the leadership and lack of a solid process. The CEO is holding the company back. She has good people and tech, but her style creates fear and blame, stopping things from getting better. If you're thinking about a job here, especially at the top, do your homework. Her leadership might not work if you like teamwork, freedom, and modern ways of doing business.

It began with an online screening from HR. Then, there was a 1-on-1 MSFT Teams Interview with the Hiring Manager. The final stage was a panel interview with the CEO, COO, VP of Sales, VP of Support, and HR. You have to do a typical presentation about your background, strengths, your understanding of the product line (to test your research skills), and your approach to the market. All 5 people were engaged, but the CEO asked the most questions.

I applied on Indeed and got a call from the HR recruiter a few days later to set up an interview. She mentioned she needed to confirm times, so I had to follow up a week later to get a time slot. The pay for the accountant role is pretty low for the market, and they're not really budging on it. Also, no remote work at all, which is a bummer for an accountant role where you could easily work from home if you're sick. The biggest turn-off, though, was the requirement for a 25-minute PowerPoint presentation that I had to prepare. They only told me about this the day before the interview. Honestly, I don't think they realize how much work goes into preparing a quality 25-minute presentation. Because of that, I decided to decline the interview.
