Project Analyst
I went in for an interview for a Project Analyst position. First, I met with the manager, who was super informal and didn't ask much related to the job; it felt more like a chat, which I thought was good. Then, I talked with two analysts who actually asked about my background and told me more about the job. After waiting for three weeks, I got an email saying I didn't make it to the next stage. It was a bummer because I feel like the manager might have already picked someone, and I didn't really get a fair chance.

Human Resources Generalist
The first interview seemed good, and I felt positive about the company. However, there were hints of a lot of work and long hours, which was obvious. Then, I was sent an assessment completely unrelated to the job and it felt very old-fashioned. The company claims to offer great employee perks, but the hiring process suggests otherwise or they haven't updated their HR processes. The second interview was with the head of the department, and it was a very old-school, outdated style. They didn't really get to know me or my past work history. I was asked to describe myself using way too many words, and then how others would perceive me with a large amount of words too. It was difficult not to reuse those same words when asked about strengths. It felt less about me and more about what people think interviews should look like, and honestly, I didn't want to continue the interview after a few minutes because I knew I didn't want to work there.

Reimbursement Advocate
So after the first phone chat, they set me up for an on-site interview. I met with quite a few people: 1) the HR director, 2) some future coworkers (my potential supervisor and the team), and 3) two different managers. On top of that, there were several tests: 1) a math skills test, 2) an English writing test, 3) a typing test, and 4) a language skills test, which is needed for this job. It felt like a really long interview day, way longer than any I've had before. But honestly, the vibe was so welcoming and family-like, I really wanted to work there by the end. It seems like if they put this much effort into interviewing, they'll be just as thorough with training and development, which is great since this is a new career path for me.
- Can you give me 5 words to describe yourself?
- What 5 words would your supervisor use to describe you?
- What 5 words would someone who doesn't get along with you use to describe you?
Insurance Specialist
I was contacted by HR about two weeks after applying online for a Prior Auth Rep role. The first step was a phone interview. After that, I had to take a test covering basic math, personality, and computer skills. While they were considering me, they filled that position but recommended the Insurance Specialist job I had also applied for. I then had an in-person interview which involved two separate meetings with two different managers and what I believe was a lead for the department, one of whom was my potential direct manager. During these interviews, they explained the company's basic policies and structure. They were incredibly nice and considerate, the best company I've interviewed with, very open and kind. I followed up with HR the next day and they mentioned they were preparing an offer. The whole process took about three weeks, even though I was sick for a good portion of it and wasn't as responsive. The offer came with a two-week window to start but they were flexible on the date. It also had detailed benefits like prorated vacation and flex days, holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability/illness/injury coverage. The interviews and hiring process were great, and I'm really looking forward to working there.

- Could you identify three of your strongest personal qualities?
- Tell me about your experience disputing insurance claims.
