Management Consultant
The process is long but structured, with the entire path laid out from the first interview invite. You meet different people from the firm at each stage, which is a great opportunity to ask them questions about the firm and the current state of biotech/pharma. Everyone was really nice, and I had wonderful conversations. It's important to be able to really well articulate each experience on your resume.
- Could you elaborate on the specifics of your projects from each of your internships?
- Tell me about the experiences listed on your resume.
- What are your thoughts on the current state of the biotech/pharma industry?

We had 5 interviews in total, and there was a take-home case that took at least 10 hours to complete. It involved data analysis and creating a 20-minute PowerPoint presentation. They mentioned it would take about 4-6 hours of free work, which is a lot on top of already having a full-time job. Honestly, the interviewers for the case didn't seem like they could have handled the case themselves. I found the whole experience disrespectful, and after putting in all that time, I'd tell others not to do their "homework" for an interview.
- Regarding the client's new product, Pinethase, for pancreatic cancer, how many physicians should the sales team aim to target?
- What's your suggested approach for prioritizing these physicians based on their potential value?
- Based on your target physician count, how many sales representatives would be needed to cover them?

The interview process had five rounds. The first round was a 30-minute chat with a junior person in the role, where they read questions from a screen. It was friendly but not very engaging or difficult. The second round involved deeper resume questions followed by a standard case question. The third round was a detailed case presentation to two team members, with materials provided beforehand. These interviewers were more engaged and friendly, asking many questions but also answering mine thoughtfully. Right after this, I got an email saying I was moving on, but then heard nothing for about two weeks until I followed up. The fourth round was a pleasant conversation with a senior team member who asked straightforward questions and answered mine personally. They outlined the fifth round and strongly suggested I'd advance. Around this time, I received another offer. I emailed the main contact to update them, express continued interest in Qral, and see if they could speed things up since I needed a decision after the fourth round to schedule and complete the final round. That person didn't reply, and instead, I received a generic email from the Qral Recruiting Team stating they weren't proceeding with my application, with no specific feedback. It makes me wonder what would have happened if I hadn't mentioned the other offer and just waited for the fourth-round decision, especially since I felt it went well. Overall, the process felt impersonal and disorganized.
