I went through Qlik's entire hiring process, which included four interviews, an informal case study, and five reference checks. However, I've been waiting over five weeks for a final decision, despite them initially aiming for a mid-February hire. Communication was spotty throughout, and the hiring team seemed disorganized. Interviewers weren't clear about where I was in the process, and there wasn't a clear evaluation structure. The hiring manager seemed friendly but overwhelmed and unsure of what she needed. In one interview, I had to lead the conversation because relevant questions weren't asked about my background. I also completed an unofficial exercise, and my references were contacted without any clear outcome. It feels like a waste of time for everyone involved.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was contacted via LinkedIn for a Customer Success/Experience role. The process began with a recruiter call to discuss the hiring manager's needs and learn more about my background. This initial chat was informative and increased my interest. The recruiter then set up a call with the hiring manager, which was helpful for getting technical and specific questions answered. Following that, the hiring manager outlined the remaining steps: interviews with team members at various levels and a take-home assignment involving a use case. I had to prepare a presentation based on this use case to present to a team, including the hiring manager's manager. I was given about a week to work on the presentation, which was quite demanding but allowed me to showcase my skills. The entire interview process moved swiftly as they aimed to make a decision before the year's end.

The initial phone screen interview with HR was a good call and it seemed like I would move on to the next round. I had the interview over three weeks ago and I sent several follow up emails. After I had the correct email, I explained I had sent several emails to an incorrect address and I apologized. I have heard nothing back from the correct email recipient in over three weeks. I know we are all busy and can't get to things right away but three weeks and no email is extremely unprofessional and not a good look on the individual and Qlik overall.
