Sadly, I didn't hear back for a couple weeks and then was told that Qless had to pause hiring because of some changes in top management. Qless sounds like a great company and I hope I get another chance to interview with them.

recruiter contacted me and we did an initial interview, then I interviewed with the VP, Sales Ops, President, and finally the CEO. It took several weeks to hear back but I got the job. The interviews were a mix of virtual and in-person.

So there were three rounds of phone interviews. The first one was with the HR person, who told me it's a startup and to be aware of the risks, and that took about 30 mins. The second one was with a developer and they hit me with some technical Java questions, like the difference between an array and a hashset, or why you'd use a linked list. That one was about 45 mins. The last interview was with the director of development, and they had me share my screen and write some code. The task was to figure out the angle between clock hands at any given time, and that took about 2 hours.

- Most Java questions are about obscure features you don't normally use, but if you're solid on Java, it's fine. The hardest question was calculating the angle between clock hands, which takes some thinking. I can't say if this will be the exact coding challenge for everyone, but expect to write code.
- The clock hand angle calculation was the most difficult, and working through the problem takes a little bit of thought. Can't say that this will be the exercise each candidate gets but expect to code.

I was first reached out to by the VP of Implementation to set up a panel interview with her and some other people from the Customer Success team. It was an hour long Zoom meeting and it was both informative and conversational. Be ready for usual intros and situational/behavioral questions. It’s a smaller team and it feels like they really want to get to know you. Make sure to come prepared with questions of your own too. I found out a lot and was able to share more about myself in this way. After the panel interview, I had another 45 minute Zoom call with the CEO. He’s a really nice, approachable guy who really wanted to be involved in the hiring process and share good insights about the company. All in all it was a good interview experience, taking about 3 weeks from first meeting to getting an offer.
