Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at QBE.
Project Manager
First, I had to take an exam and then get assessed by the recruiter. After passing that, I was interviewed by the hiring manager and their boss. Then we discussed offers.
- Can you share your experience in project management and how you've led projects, highlighting the benefits achieved?
Project Manager
I had a couple of interviews with project and program managers over a few weeks. The feedback I received was immediate and helpful. The questions in the interviews were straightforward and focused on challenges I've encountered in previous roles and how I addressed them.
- Tell me about the challenges you have faced in your past jobs and how you overcame them.
- Can you describe your experience with behavioral and technical interview questions?
Project Manager
I was interviewed by a PM and Programme Manager via Teams. The interview was relaxed, starting with introductions and a discussion about the types of projects they had. They were punctual, and the interview lasted an hour, with some time left for my questions at the end. I received feedback about the next steps four days later. The feedback mentioned gaps in my Agile knowledge, even though I wasn't asked any questions about Agile, and the company hasn't adopted Agile yet. I wish I had received more honest feedback.
- Can you tell me about a time you made a mistake and what you learned from that experience?
