Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at QBE.
Risk Manager
Standard cultural fit and SAR style scenario questions were asked. No psychometric testing or similar. A two-interviewer panel conducted the interview, and it was all wrapped up in 40 minutes. Referees were checked in on for a general chat, which didn't seem very probing and more like ticking a box.
- Describe a situation where you had to deliver unwelcome news to a stakeholder and explain your approach.
Senior Manager
Standard good experience at the beginning, met different stakeholders locally and internationally. Had 5-6 interviews, a strategy pitch, and chemistry fit meetings. Was given a job offer, and we discussed start date, benefits, etc. Reference checks went well. Then, I was ghosted. Finally, I was informed the offer was withdrawn due to internal changes and the role would be based at another location within the organization.
- What are your thoughts on the role, your experience, and your capabilities?
Management Assistant
First, fill out the online application, then, a phone call, then, CV submitted to the hiring manager, if the manager wants to meet you, HR will contact you to set up an appointment. If the interview with the manager is successful, you must take a personality test. If the test is okay, an offer is made.
