It kicked off with a virtual career fair that was pretty well put together. It gave me a decent feel for the company’s vibe and what they’re about, and I liked how easy it was to chat with different people there. The online setup was smooth, and we had some good talks even though it was virtual. After that, I had a phone chat with HR. It was quick, and the HR person was really nice. They explained what was next and were clear about the whole deal. I felt like they really wanted to get to know me, which was a good start. Now, I’m getting ready for the last part, where I’ll be talking to one of the actuaries. I’m pumped to get into the nitty-gritty of the job and see how what I can do fits with what the company needs. From the start to now, it’s been a solid and professional process, and I’m looking forward to the next step.

First, there was a telephonic call where we talked about general stuff and fit. Then, a 1-hour video interview that was more detailed. After that, an Excel Test which was a pricing exercise. I couldn't reach the next stage, so I don't know what else there was.

I interviewed with a bunch of executives over 2 rounds at the head office, maybe 6 people total. It seemed to go great, they even told me I was the top candidate. I was pretty shocked when no offer came through, but years later a friend told me that an executive I used to work with blocked my hiring to protect himself. He was worried about something that happened at our old job getting out. It was a real bummer, but luckily I had another offer lined up. (That guy doesn't work there anymore.)
