QA Consultant Interview Questions
& Process

So first, I had a phone interview with a recruitment consultant. After that, there was a quick aptitude test. The last part was an assessment day where we did a 3 hour group activity to design an app. We also had to give a presentation at the end of it. And during the assessment day, everyone got pulled aside for a 15 minute technical interview.

I first applied on their website, and a few days later, I got a call to set up a telephone interview. Right after that call, they told me I passed and invited me to an assessment day, giving me info on what to expect. The assessment day kicked off at 10 am with the academy director talking about the company's history, what they do, and their clients. Then, we had some multiple-choice tests: a Java test, an aptitude test, and a logical reasoning test. After that, we were split into two groups for a team task where we had to create a product in three hours and present it later. During the group exercise, I was called for a quick 15-minute technical interview focusing on my technical background, like my Java experience. The day wrapped up around 5 pm.

The hiring process was really quick, just under 3 weeks from applying to getting the offer. No waiting around at all, and Chloe Milton, my recruitment consultant, was amazing with communication. The phone interview felt relaxed, which helped me do my best. I even found out I was successful on the call, and we set up the next step right away. The assessment centre was the best I've been to, held in a cool old Tudor hall in Salford, which made things feel chill. After some paperwork, there was a fun presentation about QAC, then two tests, and then the group project with one-on-one interviews happening at the same time. Some people had interviews outside because it was nice out, but mine was in a really historic room. The interview itself was challenging but fair, covering OOP stuff and my CV in detail. Chloe was seriously the best recruiter I've ever dealt with, always checking in, giving me loads of useful info and great advice. It was so refreshing! The whole hiring process was super organized, well-structured, and genuinely a pleasure, unlike anything I've experienced before.
