First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pushnami.
AI Development Engineer
The CEO reached out and gave me a take-home project. They said it would take about 1-2 hours and there was no timeline. It ended up taking me 3-4 hours. When I submitted it according to their instructions, they never even opened the repo. I only heard back after following up twice and got a short rejection email. Nobody opened the project. I wouldn't recommend them because their communication process was very dodgy.
- For the take-home project, build a landing page with A/B variants and a custom analytics platform, then deploy it using Docker.
Creative Strategist
After applying, I was sent an exam to complete. After that, I spoke to the VP on the phone. Then, I had a final video interview with four people from the company. Even though I didn't get an offer, I was very impressed with everyone. The CEO and VP were insightful, and the HR generalist was helpful. The team is friendly, smart, and knowledgeable. I hope to be reconsidered.
- Asked to design notification mockups
Business Intelligence Engineer
The hiring process kicks off with a Zoom screener with the hiring manager. It was shorter than scheduled, only about 10 minutes. They asked about company knowledge, BI tools (Looker/Tableau), data modeling, stakeholder communication, AI tool usage, and location for the hybrid setup. Then there's a short technical exam based on the job description. For candidates: Research Pushnami (Austin-based, 1B+ messages/day, two-sided model, AI-first culture). Prepare to talk specifically about how you use AI tools daily. Be ready to discuss BI tools, especially Looker, or comparable ones like Tableau/QuickSight and your transition plan. The technical exam will test SQL, data modeling, and AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift). Keep answers concise as the screener is fast-paced. The whole thing felt rushed, so be prepared from minute one.
- What do you know about our company and what attracted you to apply here?
- What BI tools have you used in your previous roles?
- How have you used Tableau (or other visualization tools) to help business teams make decisions?
Software Engineer
I was ghosted by the company after completing a 2-hour Hackerrank that was way more involved than I'd expect, even for Amazon. Some of the questions felt pretty annoying to get in a FAANG interview, and Pushnami has no good reason to be asking them. After 2 hours, they ghosted me. It's shameful practice, and not worth the time to interview with them.
- Two Leetcode questions were asked.
- A multiple choice test, vaguely related to the role, was administered.
- A project requiring the build of an entire web application using Node, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS was assigned.
