We had a 30-minute Teams meeting with two interviewers where they asked general questions about my industry experience, my daily tasks in my current role, and my reasons for wanting to join this company.

Met with a panel, which included a manager and an HR representative. They were friendly and listened well, giving me space to explain my answers. The questions were thorough and asked for open-ended responses. Overall, it was a pleasant, interested, and honest interaction.

The interview was really useful for getting a sense of the company and what's expected in the job. The person interviewing me was super friendly and asked great questions about my experience as they related to the role. They also did a good job explaining the good and bad parts of joining the team.

Applied via an agency that called itself 'Optamor' and 'ARM', through LinkedIn. Got a screening call a few days later. Then, a few days after that, was asked to do a technical test. I usually don't do technical tests before an interview, as I think you can gauge technical skills by discussing CV projects and asking smart questions. But this year's been tough for tech folks, so I get why companies want to check baseline skills first. The test was on Github. The link to the instructions had a 404 error. The test is the GildedRose-Refactoring-Kata on Github, which is supposed to have a GildedRoseRequirements.txt file explaining what to do, but it's missing. So no one could possibly pass it. Even after asking for a working link and providing my own code as proof of skills, the company couldn't fix their link or review my code. Looking into it more, I figured out: - They didn't create the test. - There's a YouTube link for it, but the person in the video doesn't work for them and doesn't seem to have the required skills. - The code originated from a blog post by someone who seems skilled, but it's been messed with so much by others that it's not a valid test anymore. I wouldn't recommend tech pros waste time with this company. I have 20 years of experience in their required tech and in leadership, plus relevant industry experience (real estate). I just don't have patience for incompetence.
