First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Purina Animal Nutrition.
Consultant Veterinary Sales
The interview process started with a call from an internal recruiter to go over basic information. The second interview was with an HR manager who was pleased with my application and wanted to move me forward. She sent me helpful information to prepare for the next interview, specifically pointing me to behavioral questions and suggesting I prepare STAR responses for about 12 common Glassdoor questions. The final interview was a 3-hour Teams meeting. The first hour was with the National Sales Director, the second with a Regional Manager, and the third with the Hiring Manager. The National Sales Director reviewed my resume and asked STAR questions. The Regional Manager also asked STAR questions and we connected over our shared passion for the industry and her commitment to Purina. The Hiring Manager focused on behavior-assessment questions and then we discussed Purina, the products, and the region. I was impressed by their dedication to the company and their teams.

Pricing Analyst
I had a phone screen first, then I had 3 separate 30 minute calls with department leadership. 2 of the 3 calls asked very similar questions, the type you'd expect for any business role interview, like your greatest strength/weakness, challenges and successes in your current role.
- Can you describe a challenge you have faced in your current role?
- What do you consider your greatest strength?
- What is your biggest weakness?
Sales Representative
The process was straightforward and communicated well. They stressed the importance of industry knowledge. The interview was conducted over the phone, so ensure you have good connection and service. They provided professional but realistic answers. It's crucial to understand Purina's values and goals. Obviously, product knowledge is essential, and it's best to be well-spoken.
- Can you describe your passions in life?
- How do you approach handling tasks?
- What are your thoughts on work ethic?
Manufacturing Supervisor
I had 2 interviews, first a call and the other will be present with the Plant Manager and a supervisor. After the interview they give you a walkthrough the Plant. They will explain the process of production and tell you what type of feed they produce and how the machines run in the plant. They will give you an idea on what are the things you have to do if you where selected for the position.
- Describe how you would handle a challenging situation.
