Recruiter reached out about a role in a smaller division and was really pushy, so I agreed to interview. The whole process took about a month. The team I met felt off, especially a Sr Manager and the Director. The Sr Manager was totally un-empathetic, a former banker, and quizzed me on financials. They had no personality at all; I kept hoping I wouldn't end up on their team because it must be miserable. The Director was also shady. He kept asking how I'd improve their business in the first 60 days. I wanted to say, 'Pick up the slack?' It was really weird. His mannerisms were creepy, too; I couldn't tell if he was looking at me or past me. I couldn't picture working with them. I only went to see what it was about, but I'd never take a job there, and thankfully, I didn't get an offer. The vibe was just really strange. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone else based on my experience.

I took time off work for a three-hour in-person interview after having two phone interviews. Then, I got a writing test one morning during the week and had to finish it by the end of the day. They also asked for writing samples. It seemed like things were going well, especially since the HR manager sent me a benefits document. After not hearing back for over a week, I checked my spam folder and found a generic rejection email from HR that seemed written for someone who applied but didn't interview. It was poorly filtered by spam. Applicants aren't owed respect, but it's disappointing when companies don't treat people kindly, especially after they've invested time in interviewing. Purdue, have some pride in your company and your brand. Applicants, be careful.

The staff was really nice and professional. I got an email to set up the interview, and then they overnighted me a package with info about the product and benefits, plus an application to fill out. I met with 4 people, including someone from HR, and they told me the salary in the middle of the interview. I was there for almost 3 hours. They asked typical interview questions like asking me to talk about my experience, and which job I liked least and most, and what my weaknesses and strengths are.

The interview process here is really long for both candidates and managers. The third interview is at least 4 hours long with a lot of questions that might not even be relevant. If you have an interview, you should block out your whole day. Usually, there are 3-4 interviews in total, and how long each one is depends on the manager conducting it.
