Got initial contact which was good. Then went to their office for an interview with three people, but only one was physically there. The other two were virtual, so I was in a conference room by myself on Zoom, which I found a bit strange. After that, the recruiter/HR person was extremely slow to respond, to the point where I agreed to interview times on very short notice, and then received no reply or confirmation. Eventually, I had the final interview, which went well, but then I never heard back, even after following up a couple of times. The people I met were great, but the lack of follow-through, especially after 4 rounds of interviews, felt unfair and disrespectful. The whole process from the start to the 4th interview took about 2 months.

The interview process started with a 30-minute phone call with the hiring manager. About a week after that, I was invited for an onsite interview. Although the meeting was initially presented as being with two people, it turned out to be with six, including the hiring manager, which was unexpected and put me in an odd situation as some interviewers seemed uninterested. I proceeded with the interview, doing my best. While I understand most questions would be role-specific, there was no effort to get to know me personally. Another week passed, and I received a rejection.

Had six interviews, and honestly, they felt more like conversations. They answered all my questions and followed up quickly. The entire process, from beginning to end, took about 45 days.

Had an initial phone call where my salary expectations were too low for the role. Thought they wouldn’t move forward, then radio silence. Two weeks later they scheduled an in person interview (big mistake here for not clarifying expectations). Then silence. Two weeks later scheduled another interview in person (mistake again for not clarifying expectations). Silence. A few weeks later, another in person interview (I was super excited about the role at this point, hoping it would work out). Then strung along a few more weeks then they scheduled ANOTHER DAY OF interview. Got a call that an offer is coming but HR wasn’t prepared with numbers. 🚩. Got the offer, it’s the same as my current compensation, super disappointed by this. They came back and only increased the offer marginally. 🚩 I counter. They didn’t budge because of budget. I was disappointed knowing that I really thought this was great opportunity. My disappointment could be heard in my voice for sure, no doubt there. I called back to get clarity on the offer just to make sure I wasn’t letting my disappointment cloud a good opportunity that I was really excited about. Ultimately I decided no it’s not worth it, and sent an e-mail declining. BUT here is the killer. They called back a few minutes after my email to let me know they are rescinding the offer because I sounded disappointed!! Even worse, they used my reasoning for asking for the offer to be increased in the call. Quote “we are so happy to hear you are happy in your current role, because we are offering the position to another candidate.” 🚩🚩🚩I’m glad I had already affirmed I wasn’t accepting before that call because wow that would have gutted me more. Sooo moral is don’t try to negotiate with this company and don’t for one second not act super excited about their offer. They’ll say good riddance fast! I imagine this translates into working there as well. So be cautious. It’s a shame seemed like a great place but 🤷‍♀️
