Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PUMA.
Intern
It was a nice and fair process. Personality matters a lot, so just be yourself, be honest and confident. There were 2 rounds. The first was a cultural fit, personality check, and motivation discussion. The second was a case study with some technical questions.
- Tell me about yourself and why you're interested in this position.
Intern
They asked me some basic questions at first, and they were very nice. I made it to a second interview, where I was given a task to complete within a few days. Then, we had a meeting to discuss my design strategy. Unfortunately, they ended up choosing another candidate.
- Could you detail your entire design workflow, starting from the initial research all the way to the final product?
Intern
I applied online and got a call after 2 weeks. Then, the following happened: 1. First interview was canceled two days prior. On the same day of the cancellation, minutes before the scheduled time, they contacted me for an interview. Since I wasn't home, they rescheduled it for the next day. 2. Second interview: they canceled 5 minutes before. 3. Third interview: I waited for over an hour. The Teamhead called me to apologize and reschedule for the next day. 4. Fourth interview: they basically ghosted me (no contact from the Teamhead or HR). 5. They scheduled me for the same day and after a few minutes of waiting, someone finally showed up to interview me. The interview: it was very brief. It was clear they hadn't read my CV. I was interrupted a lot and felt the interviewer wasn't keen on doing this. Even though I met the basic requirements for the position, I was rejected. Although I thanked the Teamhead and HR, as I was very excited about the opportunity to talk with Puma, I was completely ignored. In hindsight, it was a disorganized and even distressing process. Everyone says they 'messed with me'. I was truly surprised and left with a very negative impression.
- Why would you choose Puma?
