First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pulse Group (NC).
Marketing and Communications Specialist
I applied online and had an in-person first round interview that was only 10 minutes long, even though I had to travel 2 hours. It was fast and I was confused about the role, but they mentioned they needed to hire 40 people for a training program. I was invited back for a second round on a Monday. On Wednesday, they called to check my availability and said they had already filled all the positions.
- What do you do for fun?
Client Representative
The first interview was a quick 15-minute chat with the manager about their start in the business, the job requirements, and what comes next. The second round went into more detail about expectations for the role, career progression within the company, and the pay structure.
- Tell me about your past work experience and the reasons for leaving your previous job.
Branding & Advertising Assistant
The interview and the interviewers were great, but I quickly realized I was not being interviewed for the position I thought I applied for. They make themselves seem like a marketing firm but they are really a direct sales firm with a single outside client looking to hire Client Representatives to go out and sell the client's product. Essentially you'll start out selling DirectTV subscriptions in Costco and move up from there.
- What motivated you to apply to Pulse Groups?
Marketing Coordinator
After applying, I was asked to schedule an interview through an online sign-up less than 24 hours later. I haven't scheduled it yet because the process felt a bit sketchy. I'm starting to question if it's actually a sales role with no marketing tasks involved.
- I haven't scheduled an interview because the whole process seemed sketchy.
