I got contacted directly by the HR Manager on Linked In and we communicated via phone/messages after exchanging e-mails. The first part of the interview was great, I knew benefits information and was able to reach the HR recruiter at all hours. It took 2 weeks to get through all phone interviews because the set appointments were canceled or rescheduled multiples times. Then I was invited for a face to face lunch meeting with different levels of the sales and engineering staff. Pulse coordinated and paid for my travel, they made it very easy. I met with HR for an hour and was told within a few days that I wouldn't be selected. I was disappointed to spend a heavy few weeks interested in Pulse to be turned down because I didn't seem right to them even though I met all the requirements and have 15+ years of experience doing the same job.

The interview process had two main stages: one interview with the local office and another with the San Diego headquarters. Pulse is known for its genuine and welcoming culture, which was reflected in the interviews. The team took the time to clearly explain the position, its requirements, and the profile of an ideal candidate, also discussing how the role could develop based on personal career goals. Pulse focused on understanding my career aspirations first and then aligning them with the needs for a new Field Application Engineer, which was a thoughtful approach. The interviews at the San Diego office can be a bit daunting, involving multiple rounds with several interviewers, and the schedule can feel packed. However, they excel at explaining the process, and if you're comfortable in a panel setting, it's an efficient way to meet the key team members. The schedule is flexible, and minor adjustments for interview length aren't an issue. Overall, it was a positive interview experience, with introductions to many friendly office members who were happy to chat.
