I had a first interview that went well, and then I was invited for a second round. Before the second interview, I had to do a pre-interview assignment. This assignment involved reviewing a student report and suggesting changes, and also using a rubric of the school's goals to create a weekly schedule for myself. I put a lot of time into researching and preparing these, but I felt like I didn't have enough information, possibly due to lacking specific experience or insufficient context for the assignment. During the second interview, it became clear they were looking for someone with a special education certification, which I don't have. They also expected me to have made certain connections in the assignment that I didn't, again feeling due to lack of info. For instance, the interviewer thought I should only schedule IEP meetings twice a week, but I thought flexibility to offer multiple days was better since multiple stakeholders are involved. Also, one interviewer left mid-question, and the other's partner walked through the background naked, which wasn't ideal though not her fault. Ultimately, I wasn't a good fit and hope they find someone with the right qualifications.

First there was a phone interview where they asked one basic excel question and other questions about my experience. Then, the real interview was with about 6 other potential interns, where we worked on a fake project together and talked about our experiences. Finally, there was another project I had to complete on my own.

I had a phone interview, and then got a take-home project. I also had to do two personality tests. Then I was invited for an in-person interview where I had to pay for travel myself. At the interview, they showed me the results of both tests and suggested I discuss them with my 'partner'. I had only seen one test's results beforehand, but had to talk about both during the interview. They also gave me a tour of the school. They said I'd hear back in about a week. I didn't hear anything, so I emailed a week and a half later to ask about my application status, especially since I paid for the trip. The Talent lead replied that I'd hear by a specific date. That date passed, and after another week and a half, I followed up again with the Talent lead and the Superintendent. Still no response. I emailed the superintendent one last time two weeks later, and still no response. I was, and remain, really surprised to be treated that way by the organization.

I had a phone interview first with HR from the network, then an in-person meeting with the school administrators. That was followed by a demo lesson where they gave me a topic and student assessment results and I had to teach a lesson targeting the students' scores - that was the hardest part. Afterwards, I debriefed with the principal about the lesson. They also checked my references and had long chats with them.
