The hiring process began with an online assessment on the Mettl platform, accessible from May 11th to May 21st, 2023. This test had four parts: 15 MCQs on aptitude, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and English; 20 MCQs on Java, C, and C++ programming, focusing on predicting code output; 10 MCQs about SQL queries; and 5 MCQs on Software Testing. Following the assessment, there was a technical interview held offline at the PTC Weikfield office on June 10th, 2023. This interview lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes and involved two interviewers. One focused on questions from my resume, while the other covered CS fundamentals. I was interviewing for a position within the Windchill team, distinct from Creo and Navigate teams. The interview started with a self-introduction.

For the QA intern role, the first step was an aptitude test that included quantitative ability, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and programming MCQs in C++ and Java. It was quite challenging, and only those who really practiced aptitude tests could pass. After passing the aptitude test, they called us for an in-person interview, which was purely technical since it was for an intern position.

The interview process was quite long with several stages. I had another offer so it gave me more confidence. First, there was a recruiter screening call (not counted as a round). Round 1 was a telephonic interview with the interviewer, covering basic skill questions; the goal was to exceed expectations. Rounds 2 and 3 were in-person interviews with development managers and leads, each lasting about an hour, focusing on tricky questions designed to see how you handle situations professionally. Technical questions were a bit challenging. Round 4 was a final discussion with the director, not a typical Q&A, to confirm suitability for the role. I did a lot of research on the company and role beforehand. I was nervous during rounds 2 and 3 due to being new to in-person US interviews, but researching the project helped provide talking points for the final round. It was a worthwhile experience, helping me focus on interview mistakes. I believe I got the offer and signed it. It was one of the best interview experiences, keeping me engaged without repetitive questions. If you're not on H1/L1 visas, you might start in a couple of weeks.
