First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PTC.
Java Developer
The interview took about an hour and a half and was a positive experience. The interviewers seemed more interested in my understanding of my project than in theoretical knowledge. They focused on how clearly I could explain my project. Since I had worked on the project myself, they could tell if I truly understood it as they asked more in-depth questions. As I answered, they kept probing deeper into the details.
- Can you provide a detailed description of your project?
Java Developer
So the interview process had four rounds. The first technical round was all about Java basics, OOPs concepts, Multithreading, HashMap operations, and DSA. Then, the second technical round asked about the time complexity of linked lists and I had to analyze a code snippet about dynamic method dispatch. After that, there was a managerial round where they asked me resume-based questions, asked me to pick the right data structure for a scenario, and we discussed the Java Collections Framework. The final round was a puzzle about an inlet-outlet tank system and writing a Bubble Sort program. All in all, it was a tough but good experience, testing both my core technical skills and my problem-solving ability.
- How would you rate your DSA and Java knowledge on a scale of 5?
Senior Java Developer
First, there was an online test with technical and aptitude sections. Then, it was followed by the 1st technical, 2nd technical, 3rd technical, and finally the HR round. The 1st technical round was like a screening round. The 2nd technical round focused on database-related questions. The 3rd technical round delved into the depth of the topics.
- Common interview programs like factorial and sorting, and scenario based questions to understand your design thinking capabilities.
